In a recent John Mueller Webmaster Hangout, an individual posted an interesting question on where to insert JSON-LD Structured Data. In response to it, Google’s John Mueller responded “JSON-LD structured data can be either in the <head> or the <body> of the page” Here is the detailed question and answer for your reference:

Question:
“Is it possible to insert JSON structured data at the bottom of the <body> instead of <head>? It seems to work fine for many websites.”
John Mueller’s Answer:
“JSON-LD is not interleaved with user visible text which makes nested data items easier to express. Hence, the JSON-LD Structured data can be either in the head or the body of the page”
Key Learnings:
- JSON-LD Structured Data can be added in either <head> or <body> of the page
- JSON-LD is not interleaved with user visible text which makes nested data item easier to express
