Google has released a new spam update starting November 3 which is expected to fully roll out within a week.

The ‘November 2021 Spam Update’ is expected to have further enhancements to effectively detect spam in Google Search.

Here’s the official announcement:

“As part of our regular work to improve results, we’ve released a spam update to our systems. This November 2021 spam update should be fully rolled out within a week. We encourage sites to follow our best practices for Search”

Google did not give too much information about the update. However, they have provided a link to the Webmaster guidelines in the tweet.

Google is determined to fight spam in Search Results and has released several algorithm updates this year to help the cause. Google announced the development of a spam-fighting AI in April 2021, aimed towards catching both known and new spam trends.

This was their announcement:

“By combining our deep knowledge of spam with AI, last year we were able to build our very own spam-fighting AI that is incredibly effective at catching both known and new spam trends. For example, we have reduced sites with auto-generated and scraped content by more than 80% compared to a couple of years ago.”

The last noticeable update was back in July 2021 which was named the ‘link spam update’.

Key Takeaway

If you notice a fluctuation in your SEO traffic or rankings in the next few days, it is likely that you are hit by this new Spam algorithm update. It is worth taking the time out and auditing your website. We also encourage you to refer to Google’s Quality guidelines to make sure you aren’t unintentionally violating any of them. We will update this article as soon as we get any further news regarding the ‘November 2021 Spam Update’.
